Ensure your workers have the appropriate driving licence to drive the farm vehicles you are asking them to drive.
Key points are:
- Driving licence must show Category F (UK standard car licences will automatically have this included) to drive tractors and agricultural vehicles primarily used in agriculture or forestry.
- 16 year olds may hold a category F only licence if they have passed the appropriate test.

Ensure all drivers carry out pre use Safety Checks.
Safe Stop is essential when you need to leave the cab – NEVER leave a vehicle running unattended.
If your drivers are required to work on slopes ensure they are suitably trained to do so and the risk of working on the slope is assessed.
