First Aid on Farm

A dairy farm’s staff needed to complete first aid training but were unable to attend a traditional full-day course due to the logistics of their milking schedule. At 4R, we can work around farm operations by splitting the one-day course over two days, ensuring training is completed without disrupting milking.
OBJECTIVE
To deliver FAA Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work training to staff on a large dairy farm to fit in around milking times.

Training was delivered on farm over two days, planned around the team’s milking schedule to ensure minimal disruption to daily operations.
Carrying out the course in familiar surroundings helped make the sessions practical, relevant and tailored to the working environment.
The farm provided a fantastic setting, overlooking their impressive new 60-point rotary parlour, giving everyone a chance to relate the training content to real-life farm scenarios.
The sessions were hands-on and interactive, with plenty of opportunities to practice essential first aid techniques, including: Managing farm-related injuries such as crush, cuts, and fractures CPR Dealing with burns, chemical exposure, and allergic reactions Managing shock, bleeding, and unconscious casualties
Outcomes
All 7 attendees successfully achieved their FAA Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work.
Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the convenience of on-site delivery and the relevance of farm-specific examples.
